BACKGROUND: Some owners and residents of real property that is intersected by the Boundary Line between Albemarle County and Fluvanna County are uncertain as to the location of the boundary line. In order to effectively deliver governmental services and the proper assessment of taxes there is a need to clarify the boundary line between these two Counties. Staff of both counties have reviewed the original 1777 survey of the boundary line and a detailed survey of the southeasterly portion of the boundary line that was performed in 1993 for the Town of Scottsville, as well as contemporaneous Geographical Information System (GIS) maps, and are satisfied that the line can be located with confidence (Attachment A).
STRATEGIC PLAN: Quality Government Operations - Ensure County government's capacity to provide high quality service that achieves community priorities

BUDGET IMPACT: There is no budget impact associated with this action.
