BACKGROUND: The draft Goals and Objectives for the AC44 Comprehensive Plan update were developed based on input from community members, Board-appointed committees, staff and partner agencies, the Planning Commission (PC), and the Board of Supervisors, as well as the AC44 Framework for an Equitable and Resilient Community, best practices, and the 2015 Comprehensive Plan.
In January 2024, the Board of Supervisors will hold a work session on the draft Goals & Objectives for all proposed AC44 Comprehensive Plan topics. In advance of that, through the end of 2023, the PC will hold several work sessions on these topics. Following each PC work session, staff will share a consent agenda overview of each topic group and the associated Draft Goals and Objectives. These periodic updates will keep the Board updated and informed on each plan topic in preparation for their input on the Draft Goals and Objectives in January. No feedback is requested from the Board at this time.
The topics of Environmental Stewardship, Parks and Recreation, and Historic, Scenic, and Cultural Resources were shared at the PC work session on October 10, 2023. At the PC work session on November 14, 2023, staff asked for the Commission's input on draft Goals and Objectives for the Comprehensive Plan topics of Housing and Economic Development. The remaining Comprehensive Plan topics will be presented to the Planning Commission at the work session on December 19.
