BACKGROUND: Pursuant to the County’s Grant Policy and associated procedures, staff provides periodic reports to the Board on the County’s application for and use of grants. This report includes information on all grants received by the County including federal CARES Act funding received during this time period.
STRATEGIC PLAN: Mission: to enhance the well-being and quality of life for all citizens through the provision of the highest level of public service consistent with the prudent use of public funds.
DISCUSSION: Attachment A includes a brief description of the non-CARES Act grant applications submitted and grant awards received from July 29, 2020 through August 26, 2020. Attachment B includes information about CARES Act funding received during this time period, including an update regarding the second tranche of funding, an additional $9.5M in federal CARES Coronavirus Relief Fund (CRF) monies the County received from the Commonwealth of Virginia on August 17, 2020.
