BACKGROUND: During the June 23, 2019 meeting, the Planning Commission passed a Resolution of Intent to update the County’s Affordable Housing Policy.
STRATEGIC PLAN: Infrastructure Investment: Prioritize, plan, and invest in critical infrastructure that responds to past and future changes and improves the capacity to serve community needs
DISCUSSION: Work to update the Count’s affordable housing policy began in October 2019. The community engagement phase wrapped up in December 2019, and staff has been working with a nine-member stakeholder committee to review community feedback and draft a series of policy recommendations and implementation strategies. Staff is presenting an update of the work completed to date, as well as outlining the next steps in the process.
BUDGET IMPACT: There is no impact to the budget related to this item.
