BACKGROUND: The Environmental Services Division within the Facilities and Environmental Services Department provides the quarterly report to the Board of Supervisors and County Executives for ongoing environmental programs.
STRATEGIC PLAN: Natural Resource Stewardship: Thoughtfully protect and manage Albemarle County’s ecosystems and natural resources in both the rural and development areas to safeguard the quality of life of current and future generations. Infrastructure Investment: Prioritize, plan, and invest in critical infrastructure that responds to past and future changes and improves the capacity to serve community needs.
DISCUSSION: The attached quarterly report is provided to update the Board on initiatives and activities carried out by the Environmental Services Division. Activities are grouped in the following categories general information, environmental compliance, solid waste and recycling, water quality protection, infrastructure management, staff development and training.
BUDGET IMPACT: There is no budget impact with this report.
