BACKGROUND: The Environmental Services Division within the Facilities and Environmental Services Department provides this quarterly report to the Board and County Executive as an update on ongoing environmental programs.
STRATEGIC PLAN: Natural Resource Stewardship: Thoughtfully protect and manage Albemarle County’s ecosystems and natural resources in both the rural and development areas to safeguard the quality of life of current and future generations. Infrastructure Investment: Prioritize, plan, and invest in critical infrastructure that responds to past and future changes and improves the capacity to serve community needs.
DISCUSSION: The attached quarterly report is provided to update the Board on initiatives and activities carried out by the Environmental Services Division. Activities are grouped in the following categories general information, environmental compliance, solid waste and recycling, water quality protection, infrastructure management, staff development and training. Also attached is an update on the status of Environmental Stewardship Strategic Plan goals related to office buildings and the vehicle fleet.
BUDGET IMPACT: There is no budget impact associated with this report.
