BACKGROUND: Staff began providing quarterly reports to the Board regarding the County’s transportation work items as part of the Transportation Presentations in October 2015. The purpose of this agenda item is to review the Community Development Department’s transportation activities for this quarter and to seek Board guidance on its priorities.
STRATEGIC PLAN: Goal 2. Critical Infrastructure: Prioritize, plan and invest in critical infrastructure that responds to past and future changes and improves the capacity to serve community needs
DISCUSSION: The Transportation Planner’s Quarterly Report (Attachment A) includes a summary of the transportation items, programs, and projects that the County’s transportation planner is working on, as well as a status update on various ongoing transportation initiatives being pursued in collaboration with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). This will allow the Community Development Department to assure its work efforts are aligned with the Board’s priorities.
BUDGET IMPACT: There is no budget impact related to this report.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation
Staff recommends that the Board receive the Transportation Planner’s Quarterly Report and advise staff as to any priority changes or new issues not included in the report.
