Jaunt delivers convenient and reliable services through curb-to-curb demand-response, commuter fixed-route, and ADA paratransit services, using current technology and a customer-focused approach.
Jaunt is a public service corporation owned by the local governments it serves and operates with financial assistance from community partnerships, federal and state transit grants, and local government funding. As a public service corporation, Jaunt has 16 ownership shares distributed amongst five localities. Albemarle County is a majority shareholder, alongside the City of Charlottesville, with five shares apiece.
Further, Jaunt is governed by a Board of Directors appointed by the localities they serve. The Board is composed of fourteen voting members, including four members representing Albemarle County.
