BACKGROUND: The Environmental Services Division within the Facilities and Environmental Services Department provides a quarterly update to the Board of Supervisors and County Executives on ongoing environmental programs.
STRATEGIC PLAN: Natural Resource Stewardship: Thoughtfully protect and manage Albemarle County’s ecosystems and natural resources in both the rural and developed areas to safeguard the quality of life of current and future generations. Infrastructure Investment: Prioritize, plan and invest in critical infrastructure that responds to past and future changes and improves the capacity to serve community needs.
DISCUSSION: The attached quarterly report is provided to update the Board on initiatives and activities carried out by the Environmental Services Division. Activities are grouped in the following categories: general information, environmental compliance, LCAPP/energy, solid waste and recycling, water quality protection, infrastructure management, staff development and training.
BUDGET IMPACT: There is no budget impact with this report.
