BACKGROUND: The Steep Slopes Overlay District limits retaining wall height to 6 feet. No provisions exist for modification of this limit. Section 4.3 of the Zoning Ordinance limits retaining wall height elsewhere to 10 feet.

DISCUSSION: Staff recommends establishing both (i) a single height limit for all retaining walls and (ii) provisions for modifying the retaining wall height limit.
